Vacancy position- Finance Officer (Cash book) – Gaborone Branch

The Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA) is looking to fill the position of Finance Officer at its Gaborone. BOFWA is a leading national non-governmental organization working in the field of sexual and reproductive health information and services and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). It has five branches across the country and has built strong partnerships with Community Based Organizations, other non –governmental organizations and groups of vulnerable underserved populations.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Diploma in Accounting
  • All respondents to be highly computer literate and conversant with the latest audit/accounting ware soft in use Case ware and experience in using Pastel Accounting Software.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years and prior experience with non-profit organization’s preferred

Task

  • Assist Finance & Administration Director with general accounting and providing all necessary financial documents and information for auditing.
  • Receive financial statements from the bank(s) and reconcile all deposits and withdrawals monthly.
  • Prepares vouchers and cheques for the release of funds and procure logistics as approved.
  • Ensure maximum compliance of tax laws, especially PAYE

The Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA) is looking to fill the position of Nurse/Midwife ARV Prescriber at its Kasane, Mochudi and Kanye Offices. BOFWA is a leading national non-governmental organization working in the field of sexual and reproductive health information and services and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). BOFWA has pioneered and is continually expanding provision of information and services to Adolescents and young people as well as other vulnerable and underserved populations.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of Diploma or a Degree in General Nursing with Post Basic Diploma in Midwifery.
  • Certificate in ARV Prescribing and Dispensing
  • Must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a Midwife & one (1) year as an ARV prescriber & Dispenser.

Main purpose of the job

  • Provision of SRH services including Family Planning
  • Insertion and removal of modern contraceptive (devices) implants
  • Provision of health information on sexually transmitted infections to the youth
  • Coordination of projects, reports and proposal writing
  • Ensures all BOFWA and Government policies & standard operating procedures are adhered to by all staff
  • Supervision of subordinates, community support staff and management of clinical commodities
  • Provision of Covid-19 activities including vaccination

Job Summary

The Data Collection Officer will be responsible for administering and entering project related baseline and end line survey starting from data collection to data entry. Enumerators will work in the field under the guidance and supervision of Research Officers/ Managers

Key responsibilities.

  • Conduct research and collect information by assigned methods
  • Appropriate documentation of and report results
  • Be able to move around to designated areas and conduct interviews
  • Assist participants by reading forms and answering questions.
  • Gather and accurately record responses on questionnaires provided by the Program team.
  • Ensure that questionnaires have been thoroughly checked and completed.
  • Submit daily-completed questionnaires and other equipment used in fieldwork to the research supervisor.
  • As part of each assignment, data collectors will participate in briefings; carry out data collection, data entry and/or reporting.
  • Work according to the project needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in data collection, administering questionnaires and conducting interviews and data entry
  • Willingness to learn and goal oriented
  • Fluency in speaking and understanding English and Setswana

Essential

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of and respect for confidentiality.

Added Advantage

  • Practical experience working with adolescents and young people on HIV/SRHR issues.
